Action movie Shootout at Wadala

Shootout at Wadala" is a 2013 Bollywood crime action film directed by Sanjay Gupta. It's based on the first-ever registered encounter by the Mumbai Police, which took place in 1982. The film is a prequel to the 2007 film "Shootout at Lokhandwala" and presents a fictionalized account of the events leading up to the shootout.

Here's a brief story of the movie:

The film starts with the infamous encounter in which gangster Manya Surve is shot dead. A police officer recounts the story of how Manya became a dreaded gangster.

In the early 1970s, Manohar Arjun Surve, aka Manya Surve (played by John Abraham), is a bright college student. His life turns upside down when he's falsely implicated in a murder due to a personal feud, leading to a sentence in Yerwada Jail. Inside prison, he encounters the brutality of the system and the gang culture. To survive, he joins hands with Sheikh Munir (played by Tusshar Kapoor), a powerful inmate.

After escaping from prison, Manya forms his own gang and starts operating in the Mumbai underworld. He challenges the dominance of the influential mobster duo, Zubair Imtiaz Haskar (played by Manoj Bajpayee) and Dilawar Imtiaz Haskar (played by Sonu Sood). The film depicts Manya's rise in the crime world and his romantic involvement with a girl named Vidya (played by Kangana Ranaut).

As the turf war intensifies, the Mumbai Police formulates a plan to curtail the mounting gang violence. ACP Afaaque Baaghran (played by Anil Kapoor) is assigned the task to nab Manya and his associates.

The narrative leads up to the climax, which showcases the orchestrated encounter in which Manya Surve is killed, marking the first officially documented encounter killing by the Mumbai Police.

The film offers a gritty portrayal of the Mumbai underworld during the 1970s and 1980s, combined with intense performances and dramatic action sequences.
